Drop Bar Conversion on the Cheap...Help

It might not be a bike the OP has had long, but it was bought as a new bike, and would now be disposed of as a secondhand bike, incurring costs.

Good point; well made. That cost is now sunk. I had not contemplated that someone would buy a new bike and then embark on a drop bar conversion.

I've got 8 speed bar ends on my MTB drop bar also.

I ended up with a longer stem than I'd anticipated getting, along with some John Tomac Cinelli drop bars from Planet-X - which seem to be an absolute bargain at the moment.
