Ta!She read it in a magazine before Christmas. She said it was really simple - basically par boil the sprouts & chestnuts put in a tray and add diced bacon. Season and whack in oven for half an hour.
I am staggered by the number of vegetarians I’ve met who don’t like...
...vegetables.
All they eat is the processed ‘stuff’ you can buy. Vegetarian ‘bacon’ ‘chicken’ etc. Apart from incomplete nutrition it’s patronising. My opinion.
If you're not a vegetarian and/or you don't eat this stuff, why does it bother you so much?
*coughs*
Doesn’t bother me one bit. It surprises me though.
Almost as little as it doesn’t bother me that you didn’t consider if I was vegetarian or not. Or my teenage daughter. But carry on please.
I definitely feel patronised by food manufacturers selling and branding their products as ‘bacon’ when I don’t want to buy or eat bacon. I don’t need meat replacements. Plenty of protein from plant sources that I choose to eat.
Were they nice with rotten Turkey, Tesco in for some stick.Mmmmm, well I picked up a large bag of sprouts in Tesco last week for 13p, plus a big bunch of spring greens for 7p. I have plans for both.
I like them just steamed - sprouts are at their best at this time of year. But they're equally good alongside cauliflower and broccoli florets in a cheese sauce.![]()

Its poultry processing plant, im thinking of going Vegan in the year.
I apprehended a thief a few years ago. I was out walking the dog past some industrial units and nabbed the toe rag. Once the commotion has dissipated and the police were about, it turned out he had nicked a box containing £700 worth of stainless steel turkey dicapitating equipment for a processing factory.
Thread drift. Sorry.
