just get the cheapest ones and avoid anything with an App and all that garbage

Yep, me too - I think I'd got a bit lazy with electric, and with the cost of heads, probably not replacing them often enough. So now I get bamboo brushes in bulk at about 80p each, don't worry about plastic waste, and get vigorous with the brushing.

As with most a lot of consumables the manufacturers lock you into their brand, and then charge a fortune, which is why I also use old-fashioned razor blades - as cheap as chips in comparison with the ones with multiple blades (even worse if you buy one of their posh handles and get locked into their replacement heads).

I've not tried degreaser on my teeth. 😉

It is not like a manual toothbrush - you are supposed to just hold it gently against the teeth and not press
hence the pressure sensors - because they don;t work properly if you press

I reckon the cost of the brush heads is like that of Gillette Fusion razor blades
I buy a pack once every year - if that
so the cost is just not that relevant for me

I know that. It is why a rotary brush was recommended over manual brushing.
I got a 20 year supply of old school razor blades for £25, and I shave daily.

How often you shave is only part of the equation

I seem to blunt the blades very little per shave
I used to work with a lad who blunted a blade - any blade in a few shaves
He used the cheapest Biko he could get and used each one once and once only

I could use the same ones for weeks and they were still OK

Okay, a blade lasts me 2 weeks. The important part (which I should have added) was 500 blades for £25.
Buying in bulk dramatically reduced the unit cost. 5p a blade is cheap in anybody's book.

Even I though started shaving with safety blades when my daughter bought me a fancy safety razor I used it about 5 times before going back to my Gillette Mach 11. I couldn’t live with the blood loss. Shaving is like wiping your @rse it shouldn’t be a drama.

It hasn't been a drama for me since I found the blades that agree with me.
Not had a cut in the past 6 years, and I even use it for shaving my head. YMMV, and apparently does.
