In fact it was the only one.

It was however the last of the clubs to lift the rule that you had to be born in the county to play for the club.

But I'd put it a bit more succinctly.
Imagine we're running one of those Word Association threads (like so many that have gone on before ).

We come round to the word "Football".
What is the next word likely to be?
I'd be prepared to lay ten to one odds, that the next word will be "Hooligan".

A tad harsh there are still a couple of them who have passion and are not just interested in drawing wages.

Selection needs to be looked at, the England Squad does not have to consist of the top 20 earners.
