Just drove to Leeds from Kent in cold and rain, so very poor range. I used the same charging station on the way there and back.
It’s a bank of 6 fast chargers up to 150kw.
On the way up only 1 station was occupied and it charged 40kw in 20 minutes. Works out at about 120kw p/h.
On the way back all 6 were occupied and it took 35 mins to charge 50kw. Works out at about 85kw per hour.
So my question is this. If all the spots at a charger are occupied will the speed of the charger be slower?

Yes. The site will have maximum power limit, each output is limited to keep total safe.

Tesla superchargers gang their outlets in evens and odd. So to attain faster charge you dont park adjacent to another vehicle. Unless it's a busy site and accept whatever charge rate is available.

I keep reading about owners getting over 20,000 miles from a set of tyres on an EV so I’m a bit concerned about my tyre wear.

At 9,500 miles, there’s only 3mm left on the fronts and about 5mm on the rears.

I am by no means heavy footed and you’ll see from other posts in this thread that my driving style is economy based not speed. Why are my tyres wearing so quickly?

All I can think is that the dealer (who did the first 3,500 miles before I bought it) floored it everywehere.

And the next question is; should I replace the tyres with the same brand/model? The current ones are Continental EcoContact 6Q.

I think my first main car had Michelein MX tyres. About 65,000 miles.
They now have 'defender 2' with an 80,000 mile treadwear warranty. Carbon black in the rubber no doubt.

I followed a Peugeot 208(?) a couple of days ago
I think that’s what it was

The rear lights are ‘strips’, at about 60 degrees, & 3 tail-lights (about 5x1 inch)

When the driver braked, the indicator was hidden in the red glare (daytime)

Has anyone else noticed this trait?

That your eyes deteriorate as you get older? 😅

Got a new Renault 5 delivered this week. A big leap forward on range from my Leaf but way more complex. Still learning about it but it's a lovely car.

Welcome to the club. I’m still exploring mine but so far I’m loving it.

I’m loving the R4, had a great drive through the Dales and over Buttertubs at the weekend. Have you sussed the regen brake options? Mine has 4 levels with the 4th being one pedal mode. I reserve that for round town and use the 3rd level on country roads. No idea if this is optimal or not?

Mine doesn’t have the one pedal option - they only just started delivering the R5 with this. I have D and B modes, and use B almost all the time.

I'm coming from a leaf that we've had in one pedal mode for the last 6 years.

Fortunately the 5 unexpectedly arrived with paddles and so has one pedal driving so I'm just sticking with what I know.
