The Royal Mail, Parcel Farce, DPD, etc, have all beenmso bad recently that I breathe a sigh of unexpected relief when something is sent to me via Evri. Things have got that bad.

With ebay it can be more complicated than that.
I sold an item on there, which was handled by Evri for delivery. It never arrived, so I refunded the buyer and claimed from Evri for the package. They rejected my claim because I had bought the label from eBay, suggesting I chase them.
Ebay rejected my claim, stating that I had to pursue the label seller (this is not a joke), Packlink.
Packlink refused my claim because, by this time, more than 30 days had elapsed from the date of dispatch, but if I could prove that I'd reported the loss to the carrier within that time then they would reconsider.
I would need to provide a screenshot of "such written communication that includes: initial contact date, your email address, the shipment tracking ID and the carriers reply."
Evri wouldn’t give me the necessary info to comply with that so I submitted a DSAR which they refused to comply with! Then I remembered I’d kept a copy of the transcript of my initial chat with Evri and supplied screenshots of that, which Packlink accepted and quickly paid out.
This is why, where I have the choice, Evri can always go take a flying f*ck to themselves.

Evri lost it, irrespective of who printed what or sruck what ever label on it. Provided the value justified id id take them down the small claims route. I doubt they'd even show up in court.

I think 10 seconds seems to be standard now. I very often find the parcels left on the door mat by the time I get to the door. When I watch the video back from ring doorbell it almost is the case every time. You could see the courier waiting for a response after pressing the doorbell and on a count of a 10 he is gone!

Evri lost it but my contract was with the carrier, which turned out to be Packlink. Evri was the courier, not the carrier. Who knew such fine delineation existed?!
Anyway, Packlink were very quick to refund the value of the contents, which was £10, and the postage.

It doesn't matter who you contract was with. Not having a contract does not release Evri from liability for the property THEY lost.

I got a delivery today via Evri. I wasn't home but got a call from the courier. I explained that I wasn't there, but he could leave it behind the bin. He declined to do this, saying it needed a photo/signature of delivery. We then had a couple of minutes on the phone discussing my neighbours and who might be home in the middle of the day. We ended the call and I believe he then went and knocked on each one until he found one in and was happy to talk the delivery on my behalf. Then he phoned me back and told me which neighbour it was.

It doesn't, but their liability is to the people who gave them the goods and the contract to deliver. Not to the intended recipient.

Today we have had Evri claiming we were not at home before performing a three point turn at the bottom of our driveway. My wife went out and spoke with him and was told “sorry, the delivery has been closed out for today so someone will try again later in the week “.
That was on top of DPD claiming yesterday that they couldn’t find the delivery address, that is in spite of the What3words location being logged with them against the address. Then today it sat at Carlisle all day before I got notified that it is now being returned to sender.
Flipping hopeless the lot of them.

@Regular.Cyclist - I wonder if you have the same Evri driver from Carlisle who delivered son no. 2's parcel to his porch yesterday. Apparently.
It wasn't there. Nor in any of the other outbuildings or barns on the farm he's moved into.
The postman found it today on another outbuilding in a completely different place.

We’ve had a few parcels go a bit wayward so far but you do get the occasional driver who makes the effort to try and improve things. Sadly none of them have been Evri or DPD drivers. Thankfully everyone for a couple of miles around knows about the new couple in the area so things eventually turn up.
