I used the ice bike this morning, each year I forget how much harder the bike is to ride with the ice tyres on it.

No snow round here yet, but it was more than a bit fresh. I got my fixed out and got a cold and sunny 52 miles in.

No shame in chickening out when it's very cold. I've done the same this week. Apart from anything there's the risk of coming off on ice.
The snow has arrived.
As much as I enjoy a ride out, think I will give it a miss today!

Ive driven to work the last 2 days because of the ice. Setting off for a 4.30am, 20km commute on ice is too risky as I live right out in the sticks. Even stopping to fix a puncture could lead to hypothermia.
I am now thinking of bringing a bike to work for the winter and riding a few circuits after work. It will be light and some new scenery. I could devise some nice routes from her. I have heated indoor storage, showers and a well equipped workshop if I want to tinker.
It makes sense to me.
