forget paris texas! watch static

(although it's a film that i won't watch again for fear of spoiling it, Or unless I'm drunk. (or high))

It does something very difficult, which is marrying surrealism with US feel good movie type thing. And bleakness

Hell Drivers - completely agree, a really good film

The Cruel Sea anyone?

And on telly, the scary Singing Ringing Tree. Didn't understand it at the time (black and white tv and I was in single digits) but it was frightening!! Apparently it was some strange Hungarian series.

The Great Escape, you just don't get films cast these days with so many stars in them.

Singing Ringing Tree wasn't there another one similar where a man was turned into a bear with the spooky dwarf.
