The Prestige - tremendously satisfying, even if you do spot the twist before it arrives

You see... this is why my 'top ten' varies with time and is more like a top twenty. The Prestige was indeed, a good film. The fact it had possibly my current favourite top-totties in it, Christian Bale and Hugh Jackman, only added to its deliciousness. *drool*

Noticed a load of people saying The Ladykillers.

Now whilst this is a classic Ealing, and highly enjoyable, surely this wouldn't have been on as many peoples top 10 if it hadn't been on ITV1 on Saturday afternoon?????????

I'd have New Dragon Gate Inn and Drunken Master (along with Fist of Legend) if we're doing kung-fu films!

To be honest I mostly only watch hk/asian action films with occasional forays into mainstream type stuff.

I watched these three Japanese dvd's recently and they were excellent :

When The Last Sword Is Drawn

Shogun's Samurai

Twighlight Samurai.

I also have to say Battle Royale is one of my favourites, too.

I hope you mean the original one, not the terrible Hollywood remake! (Incidentally, based on an interesting book by Tim Krabbe, who also wrote the only good cycling novel ever written, The Rider.)

Of course. I saw the Hollywood remake and was very disappointed. As I remember it was quite faithful to the original except for the ludicrous ending.

It's a timeless classic. That's probably why such an old film was shown on ITV1 on Sunday.
