Years ago I had the choice of a Specialised or a Ridgeback and a chum always used to tell me i had got it wrong and that the direct drive written on the frame of the Specialized was the first clue in that.
So suddenly seeing the bike I could have bought going for a very reasonable 50 notes, on route to a family meeting, and with bidding about to run out I bid 60 and got it for the 50 notes. Now to sorting out.

That should clean up well. This is mine, built from a frameset that was £50 on here so you've got a bargain imo:

That was in PBP/LEL set-up and it's about to get a Dura-Ace 7900 upgrade from Ultegra 6700 for continued audax use.

Here is mine a Ridgeback rapide steel 525 I think. It's my go to touring bike solid and dependable. I upgraded to tiagra 4600 10spd, wheels are Ridley rc31 deeper sectioned but 28 spokes.
Since that pic I've also put elite bottle cage bosses on the top time so my snack bag stays upright works a treat!

Are those the original bars ?

It's the original handlebar but I added the bar ends.

Bike is running really well and proving comfortable. Been using it to go to the local gym. ^_^

Have decided to test it a bit so taking it to Belgium soon for a few days touring.

So now looking for a more comfortable seat, found a very cheap water bottle holder and going to try mudguards so got them ordered.
