Sensasional headlines. It was dad who got the ticket. Changes the whole thing and makes it a non entity.I'd say five was pretty far below the age of criminal responsibility.

Can't see that it changes anything really. The basic story is as it was: little girl subject to absurd officiousness; council fesses up, apologies, & reiterates need for its agents to use a bit of common sense; end of story.Sensasional headlines. Still it was good to have the fact about it being the dad who got the notice pointed one more time.
Dad who set it up, Dad who ran it.
Dad subject to absurd officiousness
She's 5 years old. You can't seriously think this story of her running the lemonade selling is true can you? It was Dad who set it up, Dad who ran it. Little daughter was tagging along to give her something to do
Agree that the officials should used some common sense and asked them to stop, not issue a penalty notice. But the idea that this was aimed at the girl is nonsense. That's just something dreamt up by the Dad to sensationalise this and the media have latched onto it and played it up for all they're worth

This is all one-sided
Do we know they didn't have a quiet chat, and the situation then escalated?
All those 50p's! I'll be rich, rich! <evil chuckle....twirls moustachios>It was Dad who set it up, Dad who ran it.

Quite. It's possible that enforcement officers were over-zealous jobsworths, equally, it's possible that the father is a stroppy git who didn't like being told what to do.
