I can see the sea from my front garden. Flood gates are open and no flood warnings here. Mind you, the wind is horrible. Not riding in that tonight, ta very much.
River caldew.Which river? Peak is meant to be 2am around Carlisle.
Shaun
Keep yourself safe and as dry as you can. Essential paper work in a dry safe place. Hope the waters stop rising. We've had the warning call here.
Anyone else moving things to higher ground?
Having been flooded before, same street, different end, I'm slightly nervous.
We're taking precautions.
Stay safe all.
Peak flooding can come some hours after maximum rainfall, depending on how the ground soaks it up, it's pretty saturated at the moment so river levels are rising pretty quickly. Hearsay is that in the south of Cumbria it's worse than 2009. Good news is the bridges that were washed away then were replaced with better bridges.River caldew.
All the warnings have mentioned high tide at 7pm.
Why 2am?...
And next week no doubt we'll be out checking those and finding others that aren't there and any more.Good news is the bridges that were washed away then were replaced with better bridges.
