Which river? Peak is meant to be 2am around Carlisle.

River caldew.
All the warnings have mentioned high tide at 7pm.
Why 2am?
The pig of it is we have a brand new house waiting for us to move in to! Would be flaming typical if we flooded

We've had the warning call here.
Anyone else moving things to higher ground?
Having been flooded before, same street, different end, I'm slightly nervous.
We're taking precautions.
Stay safe all.
Keep yourself safe and as dry as you can. Essential paper work in a dry safe place. Hope the waters stop rising.

Peak flooding can come some hours after maximum rainfall, depending on how the ground soaks it up, it's pretty saturated at the moment so river levels are rising pretty quickly. Hearsay is that in the south of Cumbria it's worse than 2009. Good news is the bridges that were washed away then were replaced with better bridges.

Hope all goes well for you Sandra.

The height of flooding could be later depending how much more water has to filter down from the hills. I work at Eden Golf Club next to Crosby on Eden. The water was flowing over the top of the river banks, so save to say next week at work will be clearing up flooding damage and debris.....great.

And next week no doubt we'll be out checking those and finding others that aren't there and any more.

It's proper bad out there. Reports saying higher levels of water than 2005 and 2009

The River Brathay (flows into Windermere) at its highest known level and still rising:
