My Jetstream appears to have caught the 'last minute breakage' disease. Noticed a week or two back the DualDrive hub gear was playing up. Low range- fine. Overdrive- fine. 1:1 mode (yup, when it's just being a hub)- assorted clunking noises, feedback through the pedals....It went into the LBS today, early. Waited and waited for the call. Not a good sign.....£145 for a new one (plus fitting etc I imagine, took the call from the LBS at work, will get more info in the morning). Grrr....have already emailed SRAM's UK agent Fisher about this. Info about warranty etc is rather vague. Not certain of mileage, certainly less than 2k, and my pride-and-joy gets looked after properly. No way should the hub need replacing. Rather hacked off. Nearly bought a Spesh Tarmac on
eBay the other day- now even more glad I cried off (nice bike, but apart from 'domestic issues'- i.e. 'what have you bought that for?' etc- I could have got a no-less-nice new bike for the price by the time I collected it and got it specced the way I wanted- it's standard rather than compact chainset, for one thing).
I am most definitely still on for Friday though...With any luck, replacement DD hub on bike by then. Will phone LBS in morning, get more info. If need be, and/or possible, I'll be on (a) My Cadenza, which needs its service, though nothing I couldn't put up with for a while (it runs fine, stops fine, just usual wear in drivetrain) - LBS naturally has no free space on books for this week, but they might squeeze me in in view of the circumstances or (

Jetstream. Hub did work, just not in 1:1, so I'm hoping they could reassemble it as was, or get a substitute wheel (BMX one would do fine- bit less weight for Ditchling...).
