I thought as much. How about a prune and armagnac one for the next FNRttC? It is Stu's birthday, after all...

Now you're putting me into a dilemma between lightening up and carrying pastry for 50 odd people!

Anyway, I'm not too keen on your choice of tart :troll:

That'll be yours then!

Chap, TT, chap. Anyone would think this isn't your first language. Anyway, you can stop the coy stuff. There are no flies on Dellzeqq - he's onto you.

Your picture is a bit ambiguous!

If the chalk road is skinny road tyre manageable or alternatively is not excessively long (say 1 k or so) I would like to go.

I am arriving at Hyde Park Corner for the August ride from Colchester and would like to ride "into town". Looking thru memory maps I have cobbled a route together but don't know if it's any good or not? any thoughts, suggestions and comment's most welcome.

Leave Colchester on the B1026 to Maldon, A414 & A1060 into Chelmsford (Great Baddow) B1009 to Galleywood, then B1007 to just south of Billericay, unclass across to Herongate, A128 to West Horndon, unclass to Puddledock (just east of the M25) B187 to Upminster and the A124 thru Hornchurch, Barking, East Ham to Blackwall, A13 into town and roads I know from Tower Bridge area across to Hyde Park Corner = 64 miles

Auntie Helen knows this corner Mike, and will point you in the rightdirection probably. Once you get further down, then Sig or ChrisKH can direct you.

If you look in this section for the 'Manningtree Ride' it might offer a few hints and tips. (A few is optimistic BTW  )

mike,

delthebike has ridden to London from SouthEnd a few times, pretty sure he's posted the route on bikely or somewhere - I'll take a look.

Whether you come through Ilford or barking you'll be in my neck of the woods. I could lead you in to HPC if you'd like. Otherwise, del's route will include the whole route in to the start.
