Thanks for the heads up guys, I'll keep a check on the situation.

Still part of the team !
My train isn't leaving 'til 21.05 and it doesn't go through Doncaster so, hopefully, Notwork Rail will have sorted things out by then.
I'm afraid I couldn't re-fit my front mud-guard without it rubbing so apologies if it does lash down all night.
In mitigation, I am bringing a proper waterproof plus changes of socks, gloves and hat.

Here for rides.
I found a train
It said it was going to York
I got on it
The Train Manager says it is going to York
But he has no idea at what time.
It just left Peterborough
If it bins at Donny, well, I have a bike and hours to spare.

Considering options: Doncaster is approx 35 miles from York but only 20 miles from Google.
If we can get on the 2003 (which with bikes may not be possible) it's due at Doncaster 2143 so we wouldn't make York in time but the 2100, due Doncaster 2244 would mean we could easily join the ride at Google or before.
I will look at some routes

@Nick Saddlesore and I will try to get on the 2000. The worst case scenario for us is that we are on the 2100 as booked, get bumped off at Doncaster and can't get on the bus with our bikes (unlike @wanda2010 with her Brompton).
Then we'll ride to Goole (thanks @Flying Dodo !) and meet up with the ride.
We'll keep you informed @mmmmartin

If you can get as far as Donny, it looks like the Northern services from Donny to Goole are still running (maybe with a little delay) so you could jump on one of those to Goole if you are pushed for time.
I'll be leaving home in a few hours & cycling to York, might try & get some kip beforehand, as I was up at 6:30 this morning due to thunderstorm & our dogs barking :tired:

Am finally through Doncaster. ETA now just before four. So an hour later than the scheduled time for the cancelled train. Half an hour or so static south of Doncaster. Glad I have change of clothes.....
