True. But you play your way into a tournament. No point in scooshing the group then running out of steam in the knockout stages. Think it was South Africa when Argentina blew everyone away before getting hammered off Germany in the quarter final.

I'm watching in Oz and the Aussie commentators didn't have any problem with the penalty. I thought it was borderline there was minimal contact.
