The colombian at work believes Colombia were victimised by the referee!

And the columbian captain seems to agree:

and that *** maradonna, perpetrator of the greatest con on a referee and sportsmanship ever.

I write the above as someone with an interest in contemporary football so slight that it's barely measurable. But am an old fashioned sort when it comes to sport. Presumably the columbia captain and maradonna think that southgate's hug for the columbia penalty taker was ironic/sarcastic, done with a hidden twisted sneer. I saw the match. After the statements above, good riddance to them.

What did he/she say when the slow-motion of the Colombian player giving away the penalty by trying to hump Harry Kane in the box was shown?

I wanted to 'like' this at least twice.

yes. And the interfering with the penalty spot.

Perhaps Fifa should award a black trophy at the end of every tournament to the most game-playing team. They could doubtless fund something decent with one of their slush funds.

pathetic.

They need more calming drugs.

Nicer memory of the competition so far.

The night of the England Belgium game I was in town (London) at an event. Came out and not having a smart phone had no idea what had happened. Across the square saw a building with a vaguely familiar flag and lots of happy looking folk drinking outside. Turned out to be the Belgian embassy or cultural institute. They told me the score and we agreed that it was probably a good result for both teams. One chap stuck a belgian flag between my panniers and rack so I rode with that fluttering all the way to somewhere near Vauxhall where a scottish woman on a bike caught me up to tell me that it had dropped off.

View attachment 417616 ‘Don’t come home’: Colombian stars who missed penalties against England receive DEATH THREATS from furious fans – 24 years after a player...

Idiots making death threats need a good shoeing! I feel a bit sorry for them now the heat of the battle is over. Perhaps that's why they felt the need to be so physical. Maybe they could apply for political asylum here and sign for Accrington Stanley!

Si usted no bebe su leche solamente serás lo suficientemente bueno como para jugar en Accrington Stanley!
Accrington Stanley, que son el feck?!.
¡Exactamente!!!!!!

Interesting article on the play acting.

Am saddened by the comments of Southgate.

I do remember being glad to see the back of the Italians a few world cups ago after persistent rolling around on the ground.

It has been a great competition in the main. I do despair at the antics that go on in the game. "Shithousing" as it was rightly called in the article. I strongly believe in fair play even if that means losing. You can still win by losing.

England should run round the field saying, I say old chap, after you, splendid tackle old boy, oh hard cheese, no, no, entirely my fault, what, no just a compound fracture ref, I can play on......

Actually, was it Walker who tried to play on with cramp and I thought just go down, get play stopped you damn fool.

"Maradona was pictured wearing a Colombia shirt prior to the game and TV images showed him celebrating Yerry Mina's late equaliser.

Fifa said Maradona's comments were "entirely inappropriate" and that insinuations about the referee were "completely unfounded".

Football's world governing body added it was "extremely sorry" to read the comments from "a player who has written the history of our game".

Oh why can't someone just give him one white line too much, then we can see the back of him! He's a horrible disgusting embarrassment!

He hasn't 'written the history of the game' either. He had a good world cup 32 years ago, where he scored a few good goals but also cheated famously then admitted his cheating, laughing about it.
This should be the fat little Argie coke head bastard's theme tune.

Alli was hobbling about for a while too.

But never mind all that, stiff upper lip old bean! Episodes of Dads Army on the team bus back for our pies and pints of bitter. Maybe a crafty fag or two when the gaffer is dropping his sheepskin coat off for dry cleaning.
