There could be a travel difficulty looming. Industrial action on Southern's trains for 24 hours on Friday 20th .

We saw something about that on Monday coming home from Bognor Regis. I'm sure @Flying Dodo is looking into it. Fingers crossed it'll be called off.

Well, the previous four days of strike action have been called off in favour of this total walkout. Two days of strike action recently went ahead as planned.

I know, it's a worry.

Depends how busy the train is, given that there won't be any alternatives.

I'm regretting not pre-booking a ticket for that night now, as the website won't allow it any more.

You can still book trains on another provider's website. I've just booked trains for the 13th, and even though Southern's website says in one place the strike action then is lifted, they don't allow you to buy.

So I used First Hull trains, as their booking web site is still like Southern's was, before it was "improved"!

From Brighton, it would only be Thameslink trains after 4:30 pm if there's a strike.

I've never pre booked a ticket home and I've not been stranded yet. There are often little groupsave sydicates that you can join. That said I normally ride part of the way home.

These strike plans have me scratching my head and going "hmmm". I'm thinking I'll ride towards Brighton turn left over Devils Dyke and follow the un-stricken Brighton line until my legs give up, or I reach the North Downs, where they will definitely give up.
