Now for the really good news. Some of you will remember that Martin B, a tricyclist from (iirc) Norwich called me from his hospital bed to let us know that he was hit by a truck on his way to the start of the last October's ride. Here's his e-mail of today.
Firstly, to confirm that, apart from a another little scar on my scalp, I have recovered from my incident just before the Whitstable ride last year. The police were unable to trace the driver, the vehicle carrying the reported registration plate did not correspond with the vehicle description and was anyway ‘off the road’ in West Sussex at the time. Consequently the police were unable to bring a prosecution, meanwhile, the lovely lady at the CTCs legal partners is sorting out a claim with the MIB, not that it has the same satisfaction as seeing the ****** in court, and the money is not really the point.
However, I would like to register for the Southend ride on 18[sup]th[/sup] March......
