User10571 and I trundled down to Burnham this morning. It's a sweet ride. The ford has about eighteen inches of water in it, but the footpath is serviceable. We stopped by Stock Village Hall, which was hosting some kind of Tombola-fest for centenarians. Leanne of Cabin Dairy is looking forward to meeting you (I mentioned the impeccable table manners, endless patience and all-round loveliness).
My plan is for the fastest riders to get to Burnham at 7.00. Gary has moved the first boat forward to 8.30, and, if we get ourselves organised the crossings should be at fifteen minute intervals. The public toilets in Burnham are closed for refurbishment, but the Town Council is happy to open the temporary jobbies earlier (I put it to the clerk of the council that some of us are past our best in this department).
It's all good (apart from the past our best bit)
