User10571 and I trundled down to Burnham this morning. It's a sweet ride. The ford has about eighteen inches of water in it, but the footpath is serviceable. We stopped by Stock Village Hall, which was hosting some kind of Tombola-fest for centenarians. Leanne of Cabin Dairy is looking forward to meeting you (I mentioned the impeccable table manners, endless patience and all-round loveliness).

My plan is for the fastest riders to get to Burnham at 7.00. Gary has moved the first boat forward to 8.30, and, if we get ourselves organised the crossings should be at fifteen minute intervals. The public toilets in Burnham are closed for refurbishment, but the Town Council is happy to open the temporary jobbies earlier (I put it to the clerk of the council that some of us are past our best in this department).

It's all good (apart from the past our best bit)

If there are only two portions, mine is the second one. Thank you.
In keeping with my expectation, you were the first to respond.
Personally, I don't touch the stuff.

What, Stu carries an inflatable Dingy in that ruck sack?

Ohh, no, I still have a slight tan from my holiday in Spain and the chill will make me work harder and so thus forth, they shall be warm and glowing... unless ANYONE gets a puncture and I have to stop... and then, I shall consider offering the use of my thighs, as a sort of human-cum-bike crusher and said recipient will never blight us again..

Now if that's not encouragement to fit marathon plusses on the bike, I don't know what is...

Thanks McWobble, I'd hate to deprive you of your backup lighting or kill your other one with the elements, so if Steve's hardy Cree torch can fit on a 31.8 bar and wouldn't be missed until sunrise, then that'd be perfect!

No worries. My Fenix is a spare to lend out to anyone who needs it (I always run two lights on the bars, you just can't have enough light!). But it sounds like you've got things sorted. Just give me a shout if you need it.
