we have a new rider who hasn't done this kind of distance before and probably doesn't have a lightweight bike. Does anybody feel up to carrying a lock capable of securing two bikes?

Make sure let us know who it is so we can keep an eye on them and help them out if needed.

So I don't need to carry a lock now?
you don't have to if you don't want to.

is anybody coming through Stoke Newington on the way to the start?

I'm really planning ahead, I'm looking at Google Maps, and trying to work out the optimal route from Fenchurch Street to Look Mum No Hands (and probably more importantly, the route from there to a station, usable when not entirely sober ...). ^_^

Hmm, is it legal to turn right off of Cornhill onto Prince's Street? The No Right Turn signs visible on Streetview suggest not, but I was wondering if they're relating to a turn onto Threadneedle Street?

Google bicycle directions suggested this, but it's not always that accurate!
