10/10 - bullseye! (Sit down in a darkened room Frank - you're working too hard!)
They're not so much stiles as they are kissing gates - meaning that while there's no climbing over them involved, bikes still need to be lifted and passed over. Probably easiest accomplished by having a strong cyclist standing either side and passing the bike over to another similarly strong cyclist.
Nothing wrong with a little upper body workout from time to time.
Except, it won't be dark by that point. Sunrise at the moment is before 6am, and unless we sprint the entire ride, I'd be surprised if we got that far along the ride before 6am. It's not unusual for the skies to be lightening when we leave 3amses.... The only minor inconvenience is carrying the bikes over a series of stiles. That will be slightly tricky, in the dark, with 117 of us ...
As in; once when the clocks go forward, and another when they go back eh, Greg?![]()

For anyone who wants the approximate route, this is the route that we used last June (normal rules apply, previous rides are not a reliable indicator of future rides, distance and times may rise as well as fall etc).
I'll be using the carbon fibre bike, Red, so hopefully won't knacker anyone who grabs my bike and attempts to lift it, and my often overly full pannier, over any stiles!
Thanks for the birthday wishes.![]()
Any one else up for the cycle home? I'd like to be home by 2ish if possible.
it depends how i feel on saturday, i can barely walk now after sunday's marathon.. to get back by 2 is a bit optimistic, unless you leave straight after a quick breakfast.
