And I'm bringing my practically brand new road bike. Four months old and less than fifty miles on it but it's time to learn to love it as much as I do my lead-weighted hybrid.

I'm forgoing the mudguards, dynohub and Carradice of the Surly for the lightweight pleasure of my Roubaix (and a small backpack for me stuff).

I'm out, (told Simon ages ago) - not only is lovely daughter coming home for the weekend, but I haven't yet recovered entirely from the Hull-London ride.

Well, it's drizzling in Regent's Park at the mo. The penguins are getting wet.

I'm sticking with the Brompton, if only to prove the foolhardiness of it.
I thought twice this morning about bringing rhubarb, but then I thought "I'm going to get that look just for turning up, and I'm going to get THAT LOOK too if I turn up on a Brompton" and somehow in for a penny in for a pound just didn't cut it.

I nearly bought a new helmet this afternoon but thought better of it. I guess I'm just indecisive. The lovely Helen is insisting, as is her right, that I wear one tonight or she says she'll not sleep.

Does anyone of our happy band want a boxed presta valve Continental Compact 20 slim 28mm/32mm tube which seems to have appeared, as if by magic, in my saddlebag from I know not where?

I've a bike with tyres that that'll fit - if you are unable to locate the real owner....

I haven't cleaned Red from the Emsworth ride yet, and I don't think I'll bother. Likewise the Race Blades are staying on!

The forecasts seem a little difficult to read over whether we'll have rain at the start, the end, or just for the entire journey! I'll be packing a spare pair of socks for this, although at what point they may get used remains to be seen!

I suspect dellzeqq's Inbox is slowly filling with people who have suddenly found that they need to be elsewhere!

I don't think the rain is likely to be torrential, the forecast suggests light drizzle at worst, so I'm not going to worry too much about it. It certainly isn't going to dissuade me from my Bank Holiday weekend ride for breakfast.

it's not. I gave people until Thursday 2pm, and, while there was a little flurry before, it's been quiet since. And, starting next month, last minute cancellations gets you off the mailing list. As will repeated cancellations.
