Yep I'm a novice. It should be a laugh, I'm also on the cycle back.

Ha! You don't fool me. You are no novice...you're hardcore.

I am honestly a novice at long distance. I've never done over 50 miles in one go yet. I must admit I'm not foreseeing any problems particularly as it's a "genteel" race. It's about 60 miles I think, then a good solid breakfast and cycle back.

I'm not sure if we're going over Ditchling but I'm dying to have a go at it having heard so much about it.

Hang about! I thought that this was supposed to be Genteel. I just played "Snap" with a list of previous FNRttC hardcore riders, and there are an alarming number of matches.

Is this one mild or wild?

BTW, are there any other novices on this one?
there are riders of all shapes and sizes, and with all kinds of bikes. Genteel is the word.

I am thinking of returning but not yet committing to a return leg at least to GWK if not HPC. Any takers? All suggestions re route welcome - simply retracing over DB is OK but rather obvious.

I think there's at least 5 or 6 for the return journey, not sure of the route though I was planning on following Aperitif or Ianrauk...... I won't be going to HPC, will leave at a suitable point to get me to my bed in SE London

Given that I most certainly will not be attempting a return run, does anybody have any information about putting the bike on a train back to London from Brighton? Can it be done on a Saturday? Ideally, I would like to drag my weary bones and the bike back to London Olympia mainline station, but London Victoria would do at a pinch.

Any information would be very useful. Thanks.
