Paul R's topping the list now?

Sorry...

I was slightly surprised to see my comments on a blog about this morning's protest at Blackfriars, given that I was not there (at least not until it had headed off elsewhere) but then realised that I might not be the only PaulR on a bike in Londonton.

Hmm still no "John B" on the list. He's gone as far as CTC membership but clearly hasn't taken the last step / plunge yet...

Only a matter of time - the Whitstable ride is all he can talk about!

Has he slooped off somewhere?
He's on the "Shall I FNRttC?" stage of "pre-registration", where he's looking at trains and the route home but hasn't realised he's going to do it regardless of logistics. This is the stage where one notices the CTC membership email without recalling joining it.

Soon, soon.

As a newcomer to FNRTTC, can I register for the ride to Whitstable. Everyone seems to by forum. Have been an AUK and CTC member for as long as I can remember. Do I need to send any money anywhere?

Cheers

It is possible yes. I did Whitstable, Faversham, Caterbury East, Canterbury West, Ashford, Brighton. The train got me to Canterbury just in time cross over to the other station at the perfect moment to see the train for Ashford leave. This meant that I got to Ashford in time to wait for about 50 minutes for the next train to Brighton. When I caught the next one it crawled along and stopped everywhere, including places that aren't anywhere.

Rich P rode from Whitstable and got back at about the same time as I did.

It's not too bad. Rich p ditched me last year when we got to Ashford and I got the train back to Eastbourne. Lewes was a couple of stops after that. Was about £15. Yeah it was a bit slow but worked.

I recommend cycling to Canterbury, Ashford's a bit far after a FNR though.

Recommended this to various people in the chatroom in an attempt to get them to do FNRttcs.

It's a bit more complicated than that...
I sense the makings of a Plan. It involves leaving a car at Euston, so beers may not be drunk in quite the quantities they were last weekend.

We're in, subject to a cheque being posted to his zeqqness (and his accepting it!) All we have to decide is whether we fancy driving into Euston or taking a separated bike on the train to Marylebone.

And that, unless I can convince myself that I'll be fit to play the Amen chorus on the Sunday after Brighton Friday in July, or someone else can convince me that November and December are fit months to be out after dark, will be that for another year or so.
