In for this one, please Simon. Sounds like an interesting venture, with the added bonus of meeting Arch!
Logistics of getting home, anyone?
Good lord, that's some pressure!
There's a fair chance* I'll try to ride back to York, after a suitable calorie stuffing session, by a shorter route than the outward, so if anyone wants to do the same, I'd be happy for the company. Might be a more pedestrian pace though.
*Well, since trikes on trains are tricky, it may be my only way to get home..
Count me in arch it looks like the only way I will get back to york, I assume part of the way will be via the selby york bike pathI will probably leave my car somewhere in york over night.
Yeah, I reckon back along the Humber north bank and up through Howden and pick up the path about Escrick. I reckon it'll be a gentle pace with every excuse for cake stops explored.
I happen to know that there's usually space to park on road in CrinklyLion's street, about a mile out of the middle of town, and about as close as you'll get and get free parking.
I once had a look at going from york to hull I was going to take the york to selby path but then I wasnt sure where to go next I had a look round tinternet and it said there was another path and it started in selby at the bridge is that right ?
Route 65 goes from Hull all the way to York via Selby. Hull to Selby is the Trans Pennine Trail, well signed (well, once out of Hull) and from the docks is about 45 miles. Selby to Millenium Bridge, York via the rail trail is 15 miles. Signed at Selby "toll" bridge.
The only hilly bit is from Melton to Ellerker, the rest is flat.
