Out on a short ride last Saturday{9/5/09} which took me up onto the Weaver hills on the Derbyshire,Staffordshire border.The veiw is quite simply stunning .Looking north west you can see the Cheshire plain .West you can see the Werkin {Shropshire} with Cannock chase in the fore ground..To the South, Bardgate park in Leicestershire. Finally to the East, Alport heights ,Derbyshire.
If you are on holiday in this area,it is a must.

There's a point north of there I think (between Hartington and Leek) that has a plaque saying that there is nothing higher to the east until you get to the Urals! I suspect it's similar from your spot. Great area.

I live within spitting distance of there and I don't think i've ever been.

Now all i've got to do is find a way I can cycle along one of those footpaths.
