When I bought my hybrid I was too excited and didn’t do proper research backed up by bad advice from LBS even after telling them I was going to do over 90% roads. Thinner tyres and suspension corrected forks helped but still not happy, I was pining for a road bike. So I managed to pick up this for £30!
I have spent roughly £150 on new cassette, chain, front ring, tyres tubes, new cables outer and inner all round, plus labour charge from local mechanic. The two udjusters on bottom tube have been by bypassed because the screws were rusted in. The only small issue I have i can’t use 7,8 and 9 on bottom front ring because chain touches front derailleur. My rides now are approaching these gears so will move to top ring. It’s an amazing ride and I even did some of the work myself. I’m gradually getting the fit right by means of shorter stem plus riser meaning initial shoulder and neck pain is improving.
It’s so much easier to ride and I’m over the moon. Does anybody have any suggestions for front derailuer issue and would it be worthwhile changing the cassette? It’s a 12-26
Cheers All
Simon.
