Has anyone had any of these, & can offer recommendations

Not sure which to go down to Worsborough next Saturday & try (possibly buy)

it'll be a commuter light, not for night riding bridleways

Magicshine have a good rep. Looks the better one of those three.

Whilst we're on about lights, I see a lot of Hope Vision1 lights for sale, each with the seller proclaiming they're a good light.

If that's the case, why are so many on sale?

I did go down the battery pack alley but found them too much of a pain.....

At the moment, I've got two of these on the bars (one constant, one flashing) http://www.planetx.co.uk/i/q/LIPHAEN3W/phaart-aeon-3-watt-led-front-light

However, they've been dropped a few times (rolled out of a packed - 'second storey' - locker), & the section containing the switch/lens/LED breaks away
They've been held together with gaffer tape for the past 4 months

Not sure you really need 7 cree leds to be honest, but you'll certainly be lighting up the road with that

Of your original choices I too would go with the Magicshine.

To be honest I have one I bought from China 3 years ago and works great..! Brand names are that... Names... If you think about it they are all build in China lately..

On the other hand I am selling a few lights over at eBay

no experience of planet x lights but have used Torchy before and will buy from him again.

Oh absolutely, you definitely need 3300 lumens to commute with, sure to burn a few retinas. I think this light is purely meant for off road. At least I hope so.
