This wouldn't work for the OP on account of the carbon forks having no cantilever/V brake bosses.

Apologies - I did read the initial post twice to check that there was no mention of carbon - but then see that the OP gave this info further down.

So my suggestion of those Tubus bits not relevant.

I do commend them to folks with steel forks with no mounts though.

Any rack that clamps the forks (and even those that fit proper low-rider bosses, although the risk is somewhat less) can twist into the front wheel unless there is a hoop going over the front tyre and joining the two sides (e.g. Tubus Tara). Yes, it looks bad and may get in the way of a fork crown-mounted light, but it is much safer.
