Garmin edge 800 heart rate monitor

Hi guys,

Does anybody know if it is possible to use a different heart rate monitor belt with the Edge 800 other than the official Garmin one?

I have 4 or 5 around the house and would like to know if one of them would work with the 800 before I bought it, I know some heart rate monitors are compatible with others but not sure about the Garmin.

Anyone know?

My understanding is that as long as it is a ANT+ heart rate monitor it will be compatible. If you go onto the Garmin website you can see quite a bit of detail and the spec for the Edge 800.
