Make sure whatever bike will take proper mudguards, the carbon may not. Protect the bike drivetrain and more so you from the dreaded shite stripe
This is a good point, my (2015) CF Giant Defy won’t take mudguards, where the aluminium frame Defy will, I think the Contend range replaced the Defy, so the same could be true

The contend has replaced the AL version of the defy.

I’ve had a good look at Planet X. Bikes look like great value and availability seems decent. Pro carbon disc can be had for roughly the same cost as the Giant Contend. Their gravel bikes look good too. Don’t see many reviews online though which makes me a little nervous.

Do they only supply SRAM groupsets, isn't that unusual for road bike brands? I've read that SRAM front derailleurs ain't that great....
