Do they only supply SRAM groupsets, isn't that unusual for road bike brands? I've read that SRAM front derailleurs ain't that great....
The derailleurs are fine, but they do have a pronounced "clunk" when changing from big to small rings.

To be honest the vast majority of my riding is on road but I guess the gravel bike gives you more options. The Planet X Free Ranger at £1799 seems to be highly regarded. Or the Giant Contend SL1 at £1649. I plan to sell my hybrid to offset some of the outlay. I like the look of Ribble bikes but there is quite a wait for delivery.

You could just keep the hybrid for off road?
are there any bikes you’re able to sit on, even try?

Gravel bikes are brilliant for mixed riding, you can set off from home on tarmac, link up some bridleways or canal towpaths, with tarmac in between and they’re pretty rapid too, they are genuine all rounders, most have plenty of mounts for bags too

Force parts can be expensive, the rear mech not far off £200, not that they have to be replaced often
