You'd struggle to get odds as nothing confirmed...or else i'd be on it 😁Tempted, given history repeating itself, to stick a fiver on Del Toro for this year's Vuelta right now...
Whoops forgot...did he not get sick or something and bail out ?
They both sat up on the descent. And continued playing silly beggars on the flat.
I was all set to say what a great stage, with Yates having around 1’ 40’ at the top of the Finestre I thought Del Toro was still looking in control and it was going to be tight. I expected him to close the lead enough of Sestrieres. That capitulation was completely baffling, del Toro didn’t seem to be struggling. What on earth was his DS doing?
Anyone looking at the final GC from this in a few years will think it was a procession. Disappointed for del Toro but ecstatic for Yates.
I question how important WVA was. He probably helped Yates win by 4 mins rather than 3 but Yates gained a load of time because the S.Americans stopped riding.
IdT also didn't have to work for the whole finestre, just the 20 or so seconds to catch Yates. Then go back to sitting on DGs wheel if he he's being so obliging...
Visma had a wonderful 2023, but since then are giving off Ineos post 2019 vibes.

He didn't break them - Carapaz eventually left it to Del Toro to close and he didn't, because Yates was less of a threat to him then than Carapaz.
To be pedantic, Mexico is in North America
That's a good video, eh? Though they seem calmer than I'd expect, eh?
