Has anyone noticed that the cost of petrol/diesel has going up and up weekly, 1p or 2 at a time. Last time it happened, there was a public outcry and very much in the news. This time? Nothing is being said in the media as if it was normal and accepted. Diesel in my area is now £1.319 a litre and still going up . When will it end?

Yes, slowly slowly... I refil near work as it's at least 5p cheaper (petrol) than at home.

On the other hand, those of us who are self employed are getting hit hard.

That is, of course, regrettable.

Nevertheless, fuel for private car use has been too cheap for too long, to the detriment of our safety, our health, and the planet. Instead of complaing that our cosy little lives are getting more expensive, we should all be looking to reduce our pollution and reliance on foreign oil sources.

Complaining in order to try and/or to hope to perpetuate the status quo a little longer is very much the wrong thing to be doing. Rising oil prices are a glimpse of an ever approaching future - we really need to get over it and start taking action, not simply complaing about it.
