I expect Corrie has had a buch of scriptwriters imported from Eastenders.

One of my friends from my uni days is one of Corrie's chief script writers. We were all ridiculously excited when he got the job because it seemed so glamorous. My claim to fame (such as it is) is that Reg and Maureen Holdsworth's wedding episode was written in my flat when he was staying with us! (1994)
He is a very talented guy who picks up on snippets of conversation whenever he is out and about which work their way into the script.

I have a mate who gets on Emmerdale and some years ago spent about a year on Corrie in a particular story line.

Ah what is to rub shoulders with the gliteratti.

A pal of mine used to prop the bar up in the Queen Vic in EastEnders. He also used to play the piano in the bar when they had a knees up.
He also had bit parts in several other soaps - Emmerdale, Crossroads, Triangle etc.

I used to see Percy Sugden regularly at Wolverhampton races, he owned a horse called Lucy Lastic it was about as fast as he was.

Hi .
The weather's pretty rubbish at the moment to go out cycling so I started to watch the omnibus Corrie..
Blimey what happened to the Corrie I used to remember. Years ago it full of humour and light hearted story lines with the likes of Jack and Vera and Stan and Hilda.
Today's episodes of a row of terrace house was about mass murderers, rape and blackmail and evil plotting. At the end ,a voice over even suggests if you've been affected by any of these issues contact blah blah blah.
Its a shame that such a once easy going program has been lowered to being so dark and depressing. Some of the scenes are not what I would call suitable for younger viewers any more (call me old fashioned ).
I enjoy the vintage Corrie on itv 3 Unfortunately modern life isn’t light hearted.

The only claim to fame I've had, was at the Coronation Street studio tours they used to have. Strangely enough though it wasn't with one of the stars from the show ,but it was Eric Pollard from Emmerdale..It was at the end of the day and I just hanging around the Corrie street, killing 5 minutes before I made my way back to the coach..I spotted this guy walking down the set street with another big bloke. When he got closer I recognised him as Eric pollard. I went over and asked him for his autograph and apologised for not knowing his real name ( because I did call him Eric).
He was brilliant about it and made a joke ,and when my other half took a photo of us both he got me in a head lock. I've got a photo of us both wrestling as we larked around the street. After all the antics he ran to theother side of the street doing " Bruce Forsyth" impressions. A real decent guy with a great sense of humour. I discovered later the other guy with him was a star from East enders. I didn't know at the time as he only played a small role in the show as the character who collected the pitch rent from the stall holders in the square. :-)
