Got fired from my job today.

I was fired from my job as a human cannonball. They keep trying to replace me but they can't find anyone of the same calibre.

Seriously (for a moment), I went for a job with Meccano a few years ago. We were discussing terms and they said the job came with a company car.

Apparently I was the first person to ask what kit number the car was so I could look it up when I got home.

I seem to recall, amongst the models you could build with the no.8 kit was a rather swish-looking 1950s-style convertible, bit like a Cadillac. Motorised, and with all the trimmings.

But I only had the no.7 kit. My Dad wouldn't buy me the upgrade to no.8 .

I got the sack from the Paint factory. This was after an incident involving the Manager, but I prefer to gloss over the details.

They wanted to promote me to team leader at the battery manufacturer, but I was unwilling to take charge.

I had to fire a well-known troublemaker from the jump leads factory for trying to start something.
