Ground in crud on frame

What's the best thing to get rid of 15 years of ground in crud from an ally frame, whilst leaving paintwork and decals intact?

Spirit vinegar? Oxalic acid? T-Cut?

Try little patches under the frame with each of them and see which works.

Or just leave it and call it Patina.

Hot water with car shampoo/wash up liquid then a good T Cut.

Not that easy to see, apols... The black marks won't come off with normal elbow grease.

I use autoglym paint restorer.....not as harsh as Tcut ;-)

Is it me or is tcut wayyyyyy to harsh for today's acrylic? paints?

To the OP take it and a jamjar to a decent car bodysuit and ask them, they'll likely give you a squirt of fine cutting liquid and a recommendation for a finishing potion for the price of a beer.
