I only went and slipped down a wet wooden decking step on Wednesday. As soon as I hit the deck(excuse the pun) I knew it was duffed! I managed to crawl back in the house and phone for an ambulance. It took 90 minutes to arrive. It was the worst pain I've ever had. Not so much the break more when they got me into the ambulance.
Yikes - bad luck! I hope that the break heals well.

I nearly did the same thing wheeling a bike down a wet wooden ramp on my recent holiday in Scotland. The owners of the site had obviously realised that the surface was slippery when wet because they had attached anti-slip pads to the ramp. Unfortunately, only to the bottom half of the ramp ...! I took one step onto the ramp and my feet slid from under me. Luckily I grabbed a handrail to break my fall, and the (borrowed!) bike was not damaged.

Oh, and 90 minutes for an ambulance to arrive to someone with a serious injury is a disgrace!

Someone's just asked me if I've had a dump recently.

In the queue at Space Mountain?

Having a romantic candlelit dinner with Gillian McKeith?

Being doorstepped by a curry salesman?

About to experience a prostate check?

Helping a tourist with broken English to find a toilet?

Receiving spam email from your local waste disposal centre?

Talking to a cold-ridden cyclist with a punctured tyre?

I dialled 999. They asked me if the bone was sticking out through the flesh, was the leg bleeding or did the leg feel cold. When I said no to either they said it wasn't that urgent so the ambulance could take up to 4 hours. They suggested either a relative took me or I could get a taxi.

I'm seriously worried about the freezing weather when it arrives. Talk about feeling like an old git in the last year or so. I'm still quite fit, they commented on my heart rhythm and stuff when I got to A and E but I had a few near misses when I last worked. Maybe it's time i moved on?
