Halfords Bike Hell - Advice Please

We have an excellent local chain with several shops.

On several occasions I have been asked to go to another branch as the mechanic there specialises and hence keeps the specific tools. I have also been asked if I can wait 48 hours as a particular mechanic can be rotated into that branch on a specific day.

Absolutely fine by me

I can only speak from my own experience of the ones I have had the misfortune to watch work at halfords, compared with the ones in the lbs, whilst you are welcome to have your views.
Arh I see, sorry thought you were talking about all halfords employees. Your only talking about your own experince based on your judgement of what you have seen in comparison to your view over your LBS which may differ from another LBS.

Just making sure we weren't tarring all with the same brush

And of course your opinion is from?

I would also like to add that seldom a week passes without me using a Halfords.

It's clear that some Halfords are good, others are crap.
Hardly surprising - it's dependent on the staff they employ.

Comfy armchair to one person & a plank to the next
Please send your stores to Norfolk ;)

I've remembered two other annoying things about the local Halfords: it doesn't stock 26x1⅜ tubes any more; and it doesn't pay into the Bike Hub funding scheme.
