The trouble with electronic handbrakes is that you can't do handbrake turns anymore!

Of course you can, you just use the wife's car.

When parked, you have to put my SAAB into reverse or the ignition switch won't release the key. SAABs are a bit weird, but in a good way.

Edit: Just read Raleighnut's post. He beat me to it.

I must be lucky, I have had these as I said for a long time, I drive at least 10 cars a week with them and never had a problem.

I always left our manual car in 1st gear and now the twin cluch auto has park position, both as backup if the handbrake failed.

If a car hits yours hard enough to cause transmission damage it would probably be a write off anyway at that point!.

My handbrake is a foot brake. Don't think I'll ever get used to it.

I often wonder why it is still called a handbrake.

I used to be a mechanic at a SAAB dealership in the late 70s, when they closed the service manager set up as an independent SAAB specialist workshop 'Malcolm Miles Motor Engineer', his sons run it now but they still have an excellent reputation (well deserved).
