Here for rides.
Spent time before or after trying to scope the cycle storage facilities at the site and desperately wanting to ask "Do you have showers?" as one of your "Is there anything you'd like to ask us?" questions.
Felt like a second round question to me. Scoping the cycle parking was easy though. Maa-hoo-sive cages right opposite the front door.Yes, on the 2nd interview. I even made it clear I would be cycling in living only 5 miles away. I was offered the post and worked there for 7 years.
But I was asked why I was accepting a £10k wage cut first.
I didn't need to in my last job. It was a boarding school and had it's own swimming pool. Showers were hardly a problem when one of the perks of the job was free swimming pool and gym access! If you asked about showers and I was the interviewer then you wouldn't get the job. We only have one shower and it is mine, I ain't sharing it with anyone.
I am actively avoiding looking at roles which would require me to commute by car. But a lot of my focus is ending up in central London so at best it will be rail-bike, rail-walk or even rail-run with very short post-rail journeys unless I start getting off the train early to ride in which has never really floated my boat.I've been considering a move ashore from the sea. I've actually realised a cycle commute and facilities has been large in the thought process of looking for something.
For the first role with the org I just left I was ushered in via a specially opened fire exit. Y'day was my first interview in 10 years.Nope, never had a job interview!
