Are you studying also ?

Most of us are at least doing 8.30 to 5 every day at least, riding or driving to work then running a family, keeping the house clean/washing, dealing with teenagers, gardening, you name it.

What are your working patterns in the week ?

Are you working at the two jobs and training on your bike in between? Take no notice of those on here who lack all empathy and will tell you they worked harder. These things are personal and variable, and no one on here but you knows what challenges you face in your life.

They have been asked if there are other reasons they may be tired.

What hours/shift pattern. I'll say it, but a job comes first over sport - if it affects your work they won't be happy. You can fit training in by commuting on the bike.

My nephew, a similar age to you, got booted out of his catering role as he didn't want to work Sundays - a major day for restaurants - wanted to play cricket. He only gets occasional work now, a few weeks at this time of year, clearing up at Old Trafford Cricket Ground. He just bums about now.

They come from dimension partner but thats all i can tell you apart from there called tesco saftey compsite shoes

Do you have any issues with your ankles or particularly feet and the bridges of your feet?

Sadly, this company is notorious in the retail supermarket world for their footwear. It's specifically an issue on counters in stores with hard surfaces where people have to stand on them all day (but other departments), also other departments where people are required to wear their footwear.

That's fair enough, but posts that say the equivalent of 'Pah, that's nothing. I thought you were working 60-70 hours' are scornful, ignorant, and unhelpful. It's just like the 'You were lucky' sketch, or rather exactly what that was satirising.
While youre right, many of us have worked silly hours...for me at 18 till my early30s, 84 hours a week for 3 or 4 months of the year. 2 weeks of 12 hours, 24 hours off, then the same on nights...for 3 or 4 months TBF it wasnt particually demanding apart from the time commitment...but it makes 28 hours seem to pale into insignificance...seem because we cant see what exactly OP does and the pressures it causes.
Jamma, its difficult to imagine from the outside that the work itself (or the hours) is causing the problem. These are just potential theories to consider...
Unsocial hours or ypu failing to adapt to them could be the cause. Poor or not enough sleep ? Perhaps you're pushing the boundaries too much and paying for it.
General unhappiness about your situation could cause a lethargy as well, its difficult to be motivated and excited if your hearts not in it. If its not...you're in the wrong job.
Health issues ?...I'd visit the doc and explain. Bloods might show some deficiency somewhere.
Im not sure people were unsympathetic...more surprised those hours can cause havoc.

I can understand that Monday night messing with your sleep pattern a bit. You really need to keep looking hard for a career.

How much does it cost to Oldham?
It's really a quickly transitioning environment in retail.

Tescos has undergone gigantic change the last couple of years with cuts to things like team leaders. All the supermarkets are making cuts to all sorts of things right now.

I'd be wary of the overtime at tescos lasting long term. Overtime is generally pretty short in the big supermarkets right now. Of course there are people who they really like who will always appear to get what they want, but if you look at the big picture hours are very sparse at the moment. It's possible to juggle overtime as a lot of the supermarkets are transitioning to workers with even shorter core hours who stay even less than they did in the past. It's not like 5 or 10 or 15 years ago when someone could get whatever overtime they wanted provided they were flexible and a competent worker. It just isn't like that any more.

Things like the 10pm-midnight premium '1' going tells you volumes.

Retail's not worth staying in if you can possibly do anything about it (which you possibly can't). The changes coming to retail in the next few years aren't going to be worth sticking around for.

On the other hand I don't think catering is any better.

I can understand if counters and the late/early thing is making your tired. The latter is a disaster for your body even if you're 21. You can do it for a while. Counters is a lot more demanding than the naysayers on here think it is too.
Excellent insight. Glad i got away.
