My second hand Carrera frame is starting to show its age with chips and scuffs all over the bike.

I have seen alot of people using Plastidip on car wheels etc and it looks relatively simple and quite cost effective.

Has anyone tried it on a bike and if so how did it come out?

Just an idea I had as I can always remove it at a later date.

No. My daughter has just used some to make a model. Foam core shaped and then plastidip sprayed on.

I would think it would show chips and scrapes. How about powder coat. About 50

I leave my carrera to show its scuffs and chips proudly. Use to be really cautious with it, but now I don't mind picking up a few scars on an old cheap frame

Definitely shot blasting then a good quality powder coating of a colour of your choice. Worked for me when I had an old Dawes Fox frame repainted from the quiant 'racing green' original. Only minor problem was cleaning the threads of the bottom bracket shell before reinstalling the bb axle.
