You'll be delighted to know that it is now possible to buy British baked beans...

twix has gone downhill as well. Half the size! And kitkats don't taste like they did when they were wrapped in foil.
Thats just you with the twix. KitKat however had the recipie changed some years ago, whilst still wrapped in foil. Try getting hold of those wrapped in paper then foil, with the paper label.

Oddly you seem to be able to get the two finger kit kat in foil and paper while the four finger seems to always be in the plastic sealed wrapper; which really ruins the experience.

Sadly I now think of them as the 106 calorie and 212 calorie versions- as a teenager we had much ruder names for them.

Paper & foil wrapped KitKats are Middle East bound. Why they require the additional paper wrapping I don't understand.

"Have your Heinz Beans gone mank?" might make a decent skiffle tune, a la "Does your chewing gum lose its flavour on the bedpost overnight?", but it probably needs a few more syllables.

Long term loafer
I had a tin of chicken soup for lunch yesterday and once opened I glanced at the label. I was horrified to discover that it contained almost 40% of my recommended salt intake for the day. I went home and checked a few of the other tins in the cupboard. A tin of Branston baked beans was 50% of the daily salt intake. The wife recently bought Heinz reduced salt beans and they still had 25%. Hence no more tins of baked beans in my house regardless of the taste or consistency.

If you are on 3 good meals a day then it should be 33% of your RDA anyway so don't be hard on yourself. As long as you balance the ready made food with proper food then it will balance out.
I am good and really watch what I eat but then blow it by eating a packet of seasalt pretzels including all the loose salt in the bag.
