I've never seen anyone cycling up. Seen plenty carrying their bikes though, including one very impressive bloke running up with his cross bike on his shoulder, now him I'd like to have seen riding down.

I would reckon the only path you could cycle up, or even down, would be the Llenberis. The bottom part of the Miners Trail to the lake would be OK, but from there it's a scrabble to join the Pyg trail, and that has steps in it...

I dont even think bikes are allowed on the train. I would just stick the bike on the carrier, drive up to the car park, cycle up and down, go have some lunch and a hot choccy, then head home. I might take a few mates as well if they want to come.
Pics please! You, with a few mates, plus bikes - all squeezed into the yellow peril Fiat Quintessential or whatever it is .

Regarding the car ..... you're only young once, so do whatever you like. Enjoy the freedom, and scope for more distant exploration, that the mobility of a car can give you. Try not to give up on the bike altogether though, you will miss the fitness if/when you decide to trim down from 16 stone in your mid 40s .

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
I heard on the news last week that 2 walkers had to be rescued off Snowdon last Saturday when they were caught in an avalanche, so no snow?

Well, I went out today. Only did 17 miles, but didnt want to push myself too hard. Surprisingly, I didnt feel slower, or too tired. I even managed to get a PR on Strava.

There was only one nutcase when I was out, trying to knock me off at 30mph, and sounding his horn. Totally unprovoked (which is a rare occurrence when its normally me).

I had a slow puncture on the front (after fixing the rear), but am expecting a delivery of inner tubes on Monday. So thats when I will next go out.

I like how Matt is doing the exact opposite of what I wished I'd done at his age, I completely understand though.

I just did 20 miles today, after getting my knee back into some sort of working order and mainly having been on the trainer and doing stretching for the last month after getting rid of a persistent recurring cold/flu, was pretty windy though, really enjoyed it. I've lost a lot of pace/endurance from summer last year when I was doing 35+ with 1200 feet each day.

Good stuff.

I'm planning on taking the road bike down to the caravan more this year as I want to ride round the little villages in the hills around Llansa. Looks lovely round there.
