I have been driving around local roads a lot (transporting family around). Its given me plenty of time to get used to the car and I am happy with the progress I have made on my own (building confidence).
I need to get out on my bike more and have promised myself that when it get warmer, I will cycle to college and work again. My bikes are just gathering dust, not being used.
Before I passed my driving test many years ago I either cycled or ran everywhere. I saw cycling as a means to get somewhere not as a very good way off keeping fit. One of the biggest mistakes I made! Took me 20 years to get back on a bike.

And I think that goes with most people. Let's face it , it is so easy to get into the car as compared to having to put on cycling gear , get bike out etc... especially in winter. But the pleasure of cycling is still great and enjoyable. There is room for car and cycle, it is just a question of determination and priorities.
