It always amazes me how immature grown 'men' can be. I couldn't care less if none of you wear a helmet, you should be allowed to do whatever you want to. Fact is, if you're flying around on a road bike and smash your head on a kerb, no matter how small the odds are, you're either dead, or your wife and kids are gonna be wiping your backside for you for the rest of your life while you dribble on your chin. Good luck with that. Seriously, whats the big deal? Most of you sound like that knob Jeremy Clarkson. Grow Up.
I know you will not answer this, but will ask any way!
Is it somehow more pleasant for your "wife and kids are gonna be wiping your backside for you for the rest of your life while you dribble on your chin" when you have had a drink (60% of hospital admissions) or from a simple fall (43%). (Thornhill 2001).
Are these acceptable or should drinkers and those carrying out normal daily activities simply "grow up"?
Equally according to the BMJ walking (Wardlaw) is in fact similar to cycling in terms of head injury risk, so do you therefore feel that ...... if you're walking around and smash your head on a kerb, no matter how small the odds are, you're either dead, or your wife and kids are gonna be wiping your backside for you for the rest of your life while you dribble on your chin. Good luck with that.
Again, you really need to state your position as to whether you find the trauma and personal cost of an injury on stair is somehow acceptable and less traumatic for all those involved
I must however thank you for showingt he depths of emotional bullying and blackmail that the ill infrmed will stoop to in the lackof any knowledge of head injuries, the injury mechanism, frequency, aetiolgy, outcomes or anyting approaching reality whatsoever.
