What helmet should I be looking at for around the £45 price mark?

I have been looking at the Giro Stylus, what do you think?

+1 on that get whichever one fits you best and looks nicest on you.

1. It must fit
2. It must be comfortable
3. Look for any standard other than EN1078 - Snell Certification is the toughest of the helmet standards
4. Try it on before you buy and make sure it is fitted before yo leave the sop with it.

I think it's about the cheapest Snell standard one available. BTW, I have no idea if it makes any difference to one's safety

I bought this one for the road bike; and I love it. You cannot tell your wearing it, feels so light and comfortable.

Got a bit of discount and it cost me £42.00

Snell tests at higher impacts and with a greater variety of shaped surfaces


If you decide you need one, why not choose one that has Been tested to a higher standard?

Agree with the others about getting a Snell certified helmet. Mine was £20 from the Edinburgh Bike Co-operative via the internet but obviously no chance to try it on first. Happily, the Specialized Max (I have a big head) was just fine.
